COMPATABILITY AND
APPLICATION
MORDRY 410 can be
efficiently applied in clear and brightly pigmented oil or alkyd modified
polyurethanes and in conventional alkyds which tend to discolor. As
compared to Cobalt drier, MORDRY 410 can offer superior properties:
· The minimization
of discoloration of clear polyurethane in can.
· The increase in resistance to yellowing of air dry alkyd finishes
especially those
subjected to prolonged heat or alkaline fumes.
· The improvement of alkali resistance to polyurethane films
· The prevention of "loss of dry" on aging.
· The promotion of polymerization more than Cobalt driers.
· The relative lower level of toxicity compared to Cobalt.
Although MORDRY
410 will provide
complete dry of the system, optimum results will be obtained when used in
combination with auxiliary driers. This is to ensure rapid and complete
through-dry and hard dry. The suggested level of addition of MORDRY
410 based on 100
kgs of vehicle solids is:
0.5 to 0.7 kg MORDRY
410
0.05 to 0.1 kg calcium (on metal basis)
0.1 to 0.3 kg zirconium (on metal basis)
MORDRY 410
is a Cobalt-Free product and is a blend of oxidizing agents with
complexing tendency. By this composition it helps drying by itself
(through oxidation) and catalyze other metallic driers found in the
formulation (calcium & zirconium / lead).
